Description: 

D-Phenylalanine is a white crystalline powder that is soluble in water, slightly soluble in methanol and ethanol, and insoluble in ether. 

 

Applications: 

D-Phenylalanine can be used as an analgesic and pain reliever, with its inhibitory effects being significant in the treatment of chronic cardiovascular diseases. It is also an important intermediate for the synthesis of several key drugs, including polymyxin B, bacitracin S, bacitracin A, β-lactam antibiotics, hydroxymethylbenzoic acid antibiotics, Nateglinide (a diabetic drug), Bexarotene (an anti-tumor drug), and Melanotan (a treatment for sexual dysfunction).
